Taking good care of your pool
in winter
When the swimming season is finally over, it's time to shut down your pool. Winterizing your pool is essential to protect your pool and its equipment from the winter weather. This operation must be carefully carried out to maintain good water quality and to facilitate the reopening of your pool the following spring.

To avoid the proliferation of algae or bacteria, the appearance of stains on the lining, the deposit of limestone or damage to the pipes (due to freezing in particular), it is important towinterize your pool.
For a serene winter, when should you prepare your pool?
When the temperature of the water in your pool is close to 15°C, that is, depending on the region, between mid-October and mid-November (or much earlier in the case of a second home pool).
Active or passive winterizing, what is the difference?
During an active winterizing, the pool is still running, but at a slower pace. The filter pump continues to run to keep the water clean, which you should test regularly.
During a passive wintering, the filtration pump is stopped until spring, the pipes are drained, the equipment is protected and the pool is covered with a tarp.
During an active or passive wintering, it is recommended to cover your pool with a winterizing shift (WINKY models) or a winterizing cover (OVLINE and HIPPO models) which will prevent the deposit of leaves, debris and dirt in the pool. Made of an opaque gray fabric (cover) or navy blue (cover), this system also prevents photosynthesis.

During the summer, to prevent leaves from falling into your pool when you're not using it, and to protect the water from pollution and other dirt, we recommend covering your pool with an isothermal summer cover. Made of translucent blue bubbles, it also has the advantage of retaining the water's heat and reducing evaporation.
